What’s a Little Black Dress?

A Little Black Dress, universally known as the LBD is a black colored cocktail dress which had its origins as early as 1920’s and is still the favorite party or evening dress for any occasion.  This dress is considered the best dress which can make any person look elegant for any occasion, a complete necessary for any women’s wardrobe. In the year 1926 "Coco" Chanel published a picture of a short, simple black dress in American Vogue and stated that the LBD would become "a sort of uniform for all women of taste.”

Why a LBD?

World famous designer Coco Chanel states "Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance." Simplicity is the second name of a LBD and therefore can make you look elegant and oh so beautiful for any party or occasion or for a special date. Presently you can get it in any design, cut, necklines and material.

What is the one common thing in Madonna, supermodel Heidi Klum, Singers Fergie, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Cheryl Cole, Naomi Campbell, Mischa Barton, Kelly Rowland and Prince Charles?
Answer: All of them have flaunted their bodies with cloths designed by our very own Indian Designers. They have created a storm in the international Fashion arena. BEING YOURSELF WHEN IT COMES TO FASHION

Ocsar Wilde says “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” True to this quote being yourself, is the best ATTITUDE you can wear to look superb in any outfit. Fashion means being yourself and being yourself means wearing what you like. Being comfortable with the cloths, accessories, footwear, hair and make-up should top your list if you want to be fashionable. You can wear an outfit just because it’s in style, but inside you are so uncomfortable that you wished you never wore that so called stylish dress! Celebrities and stars from the music world have all influenced our sense of fashion. We are so carried away to look a million bucks that we forget to remain ourselves. Let’s relearn what we have learnt from these celebrities. The first thing we should learn from them is that they look fashionable because they feel comfortable in what they wear and each of them have their own unique sense of style. While we have a girly singer Taylor Swift we also have the outstanding Lady Gaga. Taylor Swift quoted “Just be yourself, there is no one better” and Lady Gaga also quotes “Don't you ever let a soul in the world tell you that you can't be exactly who you are.”

Age is just a number

Fashion is for all, it can make you feel good and that’s what matters the most and can keep you young from within.

Mary Berry, a famous British food writer and television presenter aged 77 quotes, “Dress my age? No, fashion keeps us oldies young”. In this age of globalization where fashion becomes an integral part of being in a globalised village, age merely becomes just a mathematical aspect. There are many such men and women of the same opinion that fashion do not have an age barrier. When I think of fashion few names come to my mind - Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Lady Gaga, Pop queen Madonna, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and many more. All of them have their own unique fashion sense and age doesn’t stop them from reaching towards fashion, why not we the normal citizens?
